new to direct tv, need some help

I have found it really a pain in the neck trying to figure out how to program it so all I get from my giude is actually the the channels I subscribed to and not all the other junk. Can anyone help or is it, the way it is. I would like to just put my channels in the favorites, it seems that you have to add channels one by one...... who has all this spare time.

On your favorites just click add all channels I get. Then uncheck the ones you do not want. Simple

Yea, it's a real pain setting up the favorites list but currently that's the only way. D* is working on a fix that will have a new entry in the favorites for channel I get but it's not there yet.
