All,
I am new to the forums and would like to know which is the appropriate one to discuss in. I am new and would like to know what equipment is needed to receive ota satellite signals (c-band ??) from my home. I live in Severna Park, Maryland. Any help/direction would be helpful.
Thanks
newbie

hi,123

there is no ota satellite signal for c band transmissions, what you are referring to is fta..free to air.You would need at least a 6 foot dish and a compatible receiver for c band and also a dish mover to turn your dish, most people prefer to start with a 8 to 10 foot dish. What ever you decide, stick with this forum and the guys here will help get you going and keep you going. happy fta..ing

Hi newbie, welcome in. Are there any channels in particular you are interested in? If for just general information on fta, I suggest you start reading all the subsections here, especially the Reviews section. It may help to follow this thread that just started>another fellow interested in what equipment, etc. Here's a link to it: http://www.satelliteguys.us/free-air-fta-discussion/235253-new-fta-need-equipment-setup.html Post back with any questions you might have, we are all satellite crazy here and live to talk to about it!
