I want to get started with the FTA channels but don't know where to start since I'm new. I have a DirecTV dish but not the receiver since I traded it in for Comcast cable. Which receiver(s) do I need to view Indian and American channels? Will my DirecTV dish work with a FTA receiver?

Zip code is 32218 (Jacksonville, FL).

Main channels I want to view are: Sony, Zee TV, B4U, and local American channels (ABC, NBC, WB, UPN, etc).

Thank you in advance.

Check out Sadoun in the link at the top of the page. They have great systems at decents prices! G10 is a good sat as is IA5, not sure what you need for the others. The Fortec I have in my sig is a great little receiver! Good luck!

your DirecTV dish is too small to pick up most FTA...you need at least a 30" dish and a different LNB to get FTA.

Sony, Zee, B4U are not FTA. They are part of Dishnet packages. You cannot get them with FTA. Zee-USA is available in C-Band as per lyngsat, but you need C-Band dish and DC-II receiver for that.

Still FTA is great without those channels:D
