I finally replaced my 18 year old Von Weise with....what else? Another Von Weise! Thanks to Linuxman having a spring cleaning sale, I was able to snag a nice actuator from him and got it installed today. I had forgotten how incredibly QUIET these motors are. My old one had steadily become more noisy over the last couple of years, now I have to stand next to the arm to hear it. Also, this one has an 8 magnet wheel, the replaced one had only 4. It seems to me it might also sweep the arc a little quicker. Anyway, I"m happy, now to re-set my G-Box 3000 positioner and re-do those satellite positions.:)

Thanks, actually, the dish is not so pretty up close, pretty old too. Its full of hail stone dings and that probably doesn't help the signal any. It was an insurance replacement for a dish that got ripped pretty good in a hail storm around 1991. Hope that never happens again, I had a new 1990 Ford 4x4 sitting in my driveway, the hail stones broke the windshield, and dented it from one end to the other.

can you tell me how to connect the power wires to the actuator, my dogs pulled the wires out and now I don't know what color goes to what!

Starman, I would paint the body of the actuator RIGHT NOW, I have the same one and it started to rust pretty badly in just over a year after install. Mine is flat black now. I could not believe how rusty it got in a year or so....

I"ve noticed the body is already starting to lose its shine, they must be making them differently now, the last one was at least 10 years old before it started to show any rust. Well, I have to re-paint the pole anyway so I'll give it a coat. Thanks for the tip.

My venture 36" actuator sounds like it is chewing nails when it moves. The motor whines really loud( almost loud enought to wake the neighbors).

Been that way since it was new over a year ago.

My other dish has a superjack HQ+ that is totally silent.
