Brand new to digital cable, HD. Got my SA8300 DVR installed yesterday. Everything works great. I have recorded a couple of programs on the DVR and want to archive them. I noticed the "Copy to VCR" command and downloaded the 8300 User Guide from SA. IA couple of questions:

I have a DVD recorder, (even I don't use VHS anymore!) - Will the Copy to VCR command work the same to copy to the DVD recorder?

I'm using the HDMI output on the 8300 to the TV. I noticed a discussion elswhere in the forum as to whether the component outputs were active when using the HDMI cable. Does anyone know if I can use the component video and OUTPUT 1 audio to copy to the DVD recorder, or am I limited to the OUTPUT 2 composite video and audio? Thanks for any help or tips.

WEll unless you have a software update you have to manually turn off and on the audio on your HDMI or RCA plugs. Goto your settings menu on your remote it should be in there.

Question about HDMI

Enjoy the game tonight
