newbie question

I had a vip612 dvr installed and an hour after the installer left, the power supply on my Samsung HD monitor blew. I didn't think there could be any connection but 3 days after I got the TV back with a new power supply it blew again. Could there be any way that the dvr is causing the problem? I don't see how and DISH claims it is not possible but I don't know anything about electronics and dont' trust them.

Did the installer ground the system?

the dish setup was already there, the only change was the dvr
I believe the outside wiring is grounded but am not 100% sure
