Why would he try to be obtuse?
I don't have the slightest idea. I'm confused too that's why I asked. Then again I don't go out of my way to try and figure out the illogical. Some things just must be excepted as they are. Regardless of how misguided they happen to be.

I'll try my best to hopefully clear any confusion you may have.

First, it's "accepted", not "excepted".

Second, I was just pointing out the hypocrisy that you've taken an obvious political stance against the NFL, yet based on your comments you're still watching. And, taking the time to post in a thread that's supposed to be about football. There are other threads here where the political discussions are more appropriate.

Not when all the rules changes that have taken place over the years ....
It use to be that way, but with them making it a much more offensive game now, it doesn't surprise me.

I think this opting out and other things, effect BOTH sides of the ball.
No doubt that both sides are affected, but I would argue that the defense is more affected. Offensive skill players can work on routes, timing, signals, etc. all year long, and often do. Defensive players need the contact, and with no preseason games, little contact in practice due to the recent labor agreement, the devastating list of recent injuries, and key opt outs, they're clearly feeling the effects.

For example, the Patriots lost two of their key defensive stars to the opt outs, Patrick Chung and Dont'a Hightower. Don't you think opponent's offenses are breathing easier without those two guys on the field?

Oh, I see your confusion. If you want to blame someone for politicizing football you needn't look any further than the NFL themselves. Not me, I’m just a former fan with an opinion on the sad state of the NFL today.

There is no need to watch football on TV to understand the latest pandering and tomfoolery churning in the NFL. Many of the news aggregators on the internet do that for you. Your assumption of my hypocricy is misguided. Capisce?

This is discussion thread, and that's what I’m doing. Perhaps what I’m discussing about isn't to your liking. I feel the same way sometimes but I dont try to shutdown a discussion because of it. BTW I often peruse threads that post as, “what’s new.” If I have something to add that’s what I’m gonna do. There isn’t anything inappropriate about that regardless of which threads you think I should and shouldn’t post my comments in. If you don’t like my contributions you don’t have to read them. You also have an option to click on my screen name and choose to ignore me. That may quell your urge to bellyache whenever you see my posts.

Enjoy your season. Ciao.

Bills and Patriots are looking like they'll be fighting it out in the East. Still uncertain on the Pats path here. Been a while since they had a mobile quarterback... 35 years or so. If you can run, have a QB that can scramble, but throw, it is a dangerous combo. Of course, Pats defense has usually been big in their winning seasons.

Bills look great. Browns did decently today, though I'd say Washington's QB shouldn't have been texting his passes to the cornerbacks.

I agree, Haskins did a poor job looking off the CB's today, something I'm sure will be addressed this week.
