My 6 foot dish came. Anik G1..2 channels, CHHD and the channel above it. Bell 91 all transponders above 50. T18=68 (highest) T1= 52 (lowest) Downloaded new software for my receiver , must be on 91 only because it would not download on 82,, can't wait to cancel saw and sell my equipment in a month.

The guy I bought the dish from says that a 10 foot will work as far south as Miami. If you want his info, PM me. only paid $608 including shipping.

If anyone wants pics to prove it, I'll send them.

Very interesting.I was under the impression that Bell had no signal at all below West Virginia.Post some pics if you don't mind,I'm sure others would like to see as well.

What do you want pics of? the dish, screen shots???? I have to wait for my RG11 to come in to run it to my house because I put it 40 feet away from my house, but I will gladly carry a TV outside and put the receiver on a tarp just to show that the guy was right about the dish that would work for me! I do not know the rule for advertising on here, so if Iceburg says it's OK, I will post the web page.

I did make a mistake, T32 is at 49.

I was serious about the pics.

If anyone wants pics, just tell my what you want to see. I am going to try to switch the LNB to DP tomorrow or Saturday anyway. I was planning on taking the little TV and receiver outside to make sure the DP LNB will not give any signal loss. I know that DP tends to lose signal faster on long cable runs, but I think that Belden RG11 all the way from the dish almost to the receiver will help.

I want everyone who was told that the G1 footprint went further then 91 to know that is possibly incorrect. I am actually on the NC/VA line. But, when I talked to this dealer, he told me 6 foot plastic Channel Master for 91 and 4 foot metal/plastic for 82, although I can get 82 with a 30". He was right. He said that he deals with Canadians in FL all the time and a 10 foot will get 91 there. I THINK he said a 4 foot plastic would get 82 down there.

I wonder if there is a way to get 82 on my current dish?

I am happy and sad at the same time. Happy to get 91 back. Sad that I spent money on those Shaw 630's that I will never be able to sell for nearly what I paid for them.oh, and the 2 LNB kit with the 4X4 multiswitch trying to get G1. If only I would have just called this guy a year ago

I'd like to see pics of the dish, and screen shots. What part of NC are you in?I know you said the VA.border, but that covers a lot of territory. If your getting that good of a signal from 91,82 should be a piece of cake.

OK will do. I have 82 on my 4 foot dish, I really never lost 82 because I always had it on a 24" or larger. I could get 82 with a 30" dish no problem.

I was just wondering if I could eliminate the 4 foot dish all together. I am just about directly north of Winston-Salem, but just over the VA line. I do NOT like this black and white menu/guide ..I guess Bell did not like the red white and blue. I am a little mad that I could not get decent channels from G1.

Black and white menu/guide?What model receiver are you using?Sounds pretty old.:D

NO..Bell changed the software to a new guide/menu color for the 9141 and 9142...mine took the new software about 5 minutes after getting signal. My friend in Canada doesn't like it either.

I checked today...I have lost transponders 3, 4, 7, 11. I know they were all working before the receiver downloaded the new, blue, black and white , software. I know because I checked using t3 when I pointed it.. T18 and t21 are still in the 60's. I even swapped the lnb with DP, no luck.

I checked and it had not moved. This is add because 32 was my lowest and it still works.

Maybe 91's signal fluctuates because I saw it once on my 30" dish for less than 30 min.

Still better than Shaw with no G1.

Don't forget that the Sat at 91 does drift around so your levels will change noticeably, especially when you are on the edge of the footprint as you clearly are.

Also, as Bell TV only have one Up-link station in the East End of Toronto, any storms over it or between it and the Sat, the Sat and you will also drop signal strengths.

Nice, thanks for sharing.Keep us posted on how the signals perform.Someone was doing a sat signal chart for Canadian providers at one point.I'm sure they would be interested in this.

more pics

This makes no sense.. but there is cloud cover and my signal seems better! All transponders. Here are some pics of my test TV screen shots. I included a shot of 82 and a pic that includes both dishes. Just for the ones who said it was not possible! Just to clarify, I have 82 on the 4 footer.
In case someone would like to know how I got the DP LNBs to work...I broke the cases off 2 DP singles and wrapped the necks in duct tape before putting them into the LNB holder.

My signals for G1 were just enough to lock in for T16. I looked and some others were at 3.4 dB, but not quite enough for the Shaw receiver to give me a picture. Some transponders still had a negative signal strength. So, I really think that that the G1 footprint is actually tighter than N6.

I do want to put somewhere that the Digiwave 4x4 switch that I got from KUSAT to run my 2 630's did not pass the G1 signal at all! My plan was to have the 6 footer on G1/F1R and the 4 footer on F2, just to have no rain fade until my commitment with Shaw is up. The switch would not pass the G1 signal.

How much gain did you get moving from 75e to 1.8m dish ? What were original signals on 75e ?

Here is what I am getting with a 75e on a cloudy day:

On 200, I am getting -2.3 dB
On 536, I am getting -3.6 dB
On 554, I am getting -2.4 dB

I have seen 200 and 554, at -1.0 dB on a sunny day. I would be curious how that compares to the signals at your location.

Channel 538, 539, 540, all on t16 went from -2.7 to 3.7. Channel 395 went from -3.0 to 3.4, but not quite enough to work. The transponders I really wanted to get were not able to come in at all! Like Comedy HD was still -0.1 dB. Sad. The only reason I see to have Shaw over Bell, if you can get the Bell signal, is if you really enjoy FX Canada .

Currently near Saint Louis
Transponder 1, -0.9 dB on 75E
Transponder 2, -1.0 dB on 75E
Transponder 3, -1.7 dB on 75E
Transponder 4, -1.6 dB on 75E
Transponder 5, -1.3 dB on 75E
Transponder 6, -3.2 dB on 75E
Transponder 7, -1.4 dB on 75E
Transponder 8, -3.2 dB on 75E
Transponder 9, -1.4 dB on 75E
Transponder 10, -1.5 dB on 75E
Transponder 11, -1.7 dB on 75E
Transponder 12, -1.7 dB on 75E
Transponder 13, -3.6 dB on 75E
Transponders 14 and 15 are not active for video on Anik G1
Transponder 16, -3.2 dB on 75E

So I am hoping that with the 1.8m (6') offset. that I will get everything but transponder 6, 8, 13 and 16.

I ordered an Anderson 1.8m dish. I'll let you know after the dish is delivered and I get it installed.
