No MLB games on 4/5 in HD yet

This is weird! I set my DVR on Tuesday for the Brewers game on Monday 4/5, Ch. 447. So yesterday I look to see if it is listed in HD yet and my timer I set for the game was skipped (red "X" in guide), I select it and it says that the game is blacked out in my area! WTF! This game is long sold out and FSN has never blacked out a home game. I just wonder what is going on here, if they are going to start blacking out home games they can stick FSN.

Yesterday the 4/5 and 4/7 Indians games were showing as being available on the STO HD Channel (431). Now they are not. The guide just reads SportsTime Ohio HD. Perhaps this is a sign that they will launch them as a full time HD channel on 4/5. I know wishfull thinking. Hopefully it dosen't mean no HD Indians games this year. None of the alt channels have HD baseball showing. The ESPN2 feed of the 4/5 Indians game is still showing as available.

Currently watching 2 MLB games in wonderful HD, Angels and Padres on Prime Ticket, and Giants and A's on MLBNet. ;)

This morning the 4/5 game is showing as availabe on STO HD. Nothing for the 4/7. Good thing that one is also on WGN HD

I can't wait for WGN and Chicago Comcast to bring the Cubs back on Dish!!!

Well Superstation WGN-HD is good for Sox games as well... many on the weekend.
If I switched to D*, the many weekend Sox games on WGN would NOT be in HD. This after paying $$ for EI.
I get more Sox games in HD on DISH 120+.
Dave,
From my summer home ;) in the Midwest. :D

That is not true if you have EI.

First, most of the Cubs and Sox games are on Comcast Sports, not WGN. That alone will get you more games in HD on Direct than Dish.

Second, even when the Cubs or Sox are on WGN, more often than not, the game is in HD on the other team's RSN feed.

Here is the EI schedule for the first week on Direct. 5 of the 6 White Sox games are in HD. How many are in HD on Dish outside of the Chicago market?

1. I know most White Sox games are on CSN Chicago. I don't need MLB-EI for this. DISH does not have MLB-EI due to the MLB's ransom, ahem connections to Directv which made EI prohibitively expensive to other satellite providers. I also enjoy paying less for my low end DISH package at $45 a month. Does Directv have a 120 channel package? -nope

2. I get nearly all of them in HD as well with my address. There are only a few not in HD. Last year or the year before the first 2 or 3 games of the season were not in HD, anywhere, due to CSN HD problems.

You just love to deride DISH. OK, here's more, DISH has many more movie channels too, in HD and SD. I enjoy HD baseball on DISH. A lot more than paying D* and then having no WGN-HD Sox game -nearly every- weekend.

Competition is good for everyone, good luck with D12. Same for E14 and E15? ...

I am not deriding Dish. I am commenting on your post in which you said, "This after paying $$ for EI",and "I get more Sox games in HD on DISH 120+". It was a point of clarity to inform people that you do not get more ChiSox games in HD on Dish if you have EI.

I simply point out facts no matter which company the facts hurt or help. The problem is, there are too many people emotionally attached to either provider. When one brags about one provider or talks negative about the other, they tend to take it personally and accuse them of being a fanboy or derading the other provider.

I guess I must love deriding Direct as well:http://www.satelliteguys.us/showthread.php?t=206929

OK, I beg to disagree. I get more White Sox games (one almost every weekend more) with DISH and WGN-HD than with Directv. **In White Sox territory**
-most of IL/IN, IA, part of S. Wisconsin).

First, as a point of clarity, that is not true within Chicago, but it maybe true within outlying areas of other states that are in the ChiSox territory. Within the Chicago Territory one gets the same amount of ChiSox games in HD on both Dish and Direct (unless Dish carries WCIU in HD, because Direct does not). Direct does carry WGN HD locally within the Chicago market (the local WGN shows the same game as WGN America).

Second, my point was about those outside of ChiSox territory, which is most of us on here and most of us concerned with getting WGN HD

Let met add, this point is mute anyway because during most of this baseball season that is going to change, as Direct will be carrying WGN America HD.

This is just sad and may push me over the edge to switch. Its been difficult enough to watch the Sony Ericsson tournament this week on FSN in SD....but if they don't show the Braves home opener in HD, I think I might freak out.

You are 100 percent wrong, as Directv carry's comcast sports net as a full time RSN in HD! Tune in now on dish you wont see CSNCHHD, but on every other provider you will! The only time you will see CSNCHHD on dish is during games, and thats if dish carrys them or chooses to.

I dont count WGN as WGN is in HD on both, and WCIU is not carried by both, but if you do add in an OTA module you can get WCIU in HD.

I know this is off topic but if you have the multi-sport package, they have been carrying the Ericsson Tournament in HD on channel 444.

I am on EA and I do not see any HD baseball games on the Alt channels nor STO (431) past 4/5 Maybe a sign that they will light up full time HD RSNs on 4/7 for EA?
