The system in my RV is no longer working. It was fine 10 days ago, but moved to a new camp and now it is not working. I use a manual setup 18" round dish and signal meter to locate the 101 sat. When I set it up on Sunday, I had plenty of signal strength on the meter, but nothing on the DirecTV setup menu. Further checking showed just 3 transponders working with strength between 77% and 84%, transponders 28, 30 and 32. All other transponders were zero.

Rebooting the system did nothing. DirecTV technical help was worthless, so took a chance and ordered a new LNB from Amazon. Just swapped out the LNB without disturbing the dish placement. No change, 28, 30 and 32 still around 80%, others all at zero. There is nothing left but the receiver, but doesn't seem reasonable that the receiver recognizes a few transponders but not all of them. Can anyone help on this problem???

Your not pointed at the 101 Sat, try adjusting.

Where are you ?
We can give you co ordinates, or you can put your current zip in the recvr and it will do that for you.

Major things ... the mast must be plumb.
Set the elevation, scan slowly east and west.

What recvr are you using ....
What dish and LNB.

Yeah ...

If you're just picking up tps. 28, 30, and 32 you're likely pointed at 110W. Try to carefully move the dish about 9° east.

Even though the DIRECTV signals from 110W are low or 0 for most subscribers as the satellite's orientation there places its beam peak over Puerto Rico, many can still receive it at various levels in the CONUS.

Thank you for the detailed response. Problem was easily fixed. Too bad DirecTV Tech Support couldn't give me that answer.
