I'm not sure if I am posting this on the correct forum, but here goes.

I am a Direct TV subscriber, and have had no problems until the past month. When I select a channel that is non HD, the video signal cuts out, but the audio still operates. I get a message on the TV that says "Not Supported Mode". This is a message from the TV, not the Direct TV receiver or the A/V receiver. I cannot determine where the problem is occurring. The only other observation I can offer is that the 4 lights denoting resolution on the Direct TV receiver changes from 1080i to 480i. I have never paid attention to this before, and this could be normal.

I suspect that when we had the neighbor's kid over to house sit and watch our animals, that he accidentally changed a setting somewhere. I just don't know where to look.

My equipment: Direct TV HR20-700 (HD/DVR satellite receiver), Sony STR-DG710 (A/V receiver), Samsung HL-S4266WX/XAA (DLP TV)

Your TV, like many Samsungs, does not support 480i signals over HDMI. You need to go into the setup menu on the HR20 and make sure 480i is UNchecked as a supported resolution.
