I'm in the north east (Spencer, NY 14883) and I'm wondering what I might be able to try to improve my picture. I have the 722k and a 1080i TV. I only get about a 50% signal strength. Does this look right?

yes that loks fine. The meter is very deceiving....between 50-65 or so is normal. With digital its either there or not

The reason your non HD locals look bad is due to compression. When you cram 12-13 SD channels on a transponder it does look yeesh in most cases.

Well between the locals looking so crappy and no YES network we will only have Dish until our contract is up.

Actually, I've noticed that most SD content has been looking pretty bad lately. Even on HD channels when they go to SD commercials. The HD content still looks pretty good. Sometimes text looks like looking at my old 8-bit Atari.

Is there a way to tell if there are any offline satellites? I know when I signed up they say there was a satellite offline and it was causing quality problems.
