Hey guys, check this out, I just scored a Qualcom satellite phone off fleabay for $75 bucks. It uses a service called Globalstar. They are adding satellites and having their current ones change orbit. Theyre LEOS (low earth orbiting satellites) and during this time which is through 2010 theyre offering service for $20/month for unlimited use (voice and data). Data is supposed to run 10 kbs/s which is about double dial-up. Im going to play with it and enjoy it for a while just to see how they work and what not. Ice I know your a sat nut and and a couple others of yall are too so if you got some cash to burn and want to play and learn here is a good chance. If anyone wants links to Globalstars pricing page or the model of the sat phone i got cheap let me know. The phone is a CDMA phone so it can piggyback Allte, Sprint, Verizon and Globalstar so whoever signal is the strongest it will flip-flop between. Cool stuff, just wanted to share.

Oliver
