yeah it's real, sorry about the size, i have no idea how to make it smaller.
I just got D* installed on Saturday, and it was a SWiM install. It is so much cleaner to have only 1 cable going to the DVR's, it also seems to be a much simpler install.
I see it on the multiswitch boxes that I install.

Question for you. Just got those new switches. Wired up the way I did with the old switches, did not work. I was told that these switches have to have the power inserter before the switch. Do you know?
No, never did it that way myself. I heard of other guys doing something like this but I don't really know if it's better, worse, or what.
It's all power passing, if hooked up correctly I'm sure you can't go wrong either way.
I do know that if you connect the IRD to the PI swm port, you with DOB your IRD.

Interesting info about the logo. However, I don't see it spelled as SWiM in the feature list of the unit. And I didn't see it shown on the DirecTV website even though it's listed as a registered trademark of DirecTV.

Well when i watch the FYI videos that are required for In House Techs to watch. they put the i on the M's first part of the M letter. instead of saying SWM system. they said SWIM bc the switch is then swimming from the Tuner 1 to tuner 2 even though a cable is NOT hooked up to the tuner two calling it a Swim over from tuner 1 to 2.

SWM or SWiM is the best thing to have especially doing a HDDVR install!!
