Can I use this old dish with VIP612 DVR receiver? Dish probably is from 2000-2001 vintage? Pics attached...

You could gotta run 2 lines to the receiver. Looks like a legacy lnb on it. You will only get 110 and 119 tho so very very very limited hd programs.

Currently there is 1 line out from the dish, and I was using the separator to try to hook up... So I will need to hook up directly to each feed within the housing on the dish, I'll give it a try!

So it recognized 129 and 119, no 110? Still bad signal so no data. Need to tweak the alignment...

Even picking up 119 and 129, it should work. Run a check switch test to make sure the receiver is properly configured for the legacy dish twin.
As mentioned, 129 is the big HD sat and 119 is the original Dish position so there are a good bit of channels in that config. Depending on where you are (east coast) you could aim it to the 61.5 and 72.7 location, making it a 'bastard' 1000.4 eastern arc dish w/out the 77 sat. As I remember, 77 is almost all local channels so you'd not get those, but if you are not in the designated city, you wouldn't get them anyway.

Thanks guys, up and running. I am in OKC, ready to tailgate now. What sat is ESPN on?

ESPN SD is on 119, HD is on 110. So if you only have 119/129, then you won't get ESPN HD. Most of the other HD channels are on 129 though.

You just need to rotate the dish about 8-10 degrees east and raise the elevation a couple of degrees and you will see 110 and 119.

It is not a dish or lnb problem, just a pointing problem.
