Hi, i was hoping i could get some ifo from you guys, you have always been a big help in the past. I just called today to upgrade from my 522 to a HD receiver. Is there anything i need to do as far as cleaning out the 522 before selling it? we wont be needing it ,but wasnt sure if it would have any info in it that should be deleted for safety reasons.

Just delete your shows if you don't want them listed there for the new people. I've seen these things full of porn and that's probably embarrassing if the people realize it went out that way.

When deactivated

no porn! just alot of hunting shows and csi's. mostley wondered about the owner info but maybe that isnt on it.

That info dies when the rec is removed from the account. So if there are any shows on it that you wanta keep archive to a dvd and delete it. I would think that you should delete all shows on it just to clear it out for the next owner.

No owner info in the receiver. I agree it would be polite to clear the hard drive before selling it though.

Thanks guys, that was what i was asking ,good to know no personal info is left on. i did,of course plan to delete all the saved programs.:D Its been a great dvr, but really looking forward to the HD

I own a 721, do I have to turn it in on a HD upgrade?

Was wanting to give it to a family member.

Depends on the agreement you make with DISH when accepting the upgrade.

Do you have to give the dealership your old car when you buy a new one? Answer: Not always, just depends on the negotiation.
