I have its twin sister in our basement. I'll have to check which LNBf is still attached…I could go in the dumpster for a dish...looks like we got a 500!
Cool! I forgot to mention I saw a dishnet in the dumpster too. First one I ever saw in person! And of course there was the usual turbohd and plus in there too lolI have its twin sister in our basement. I'll have to check which LNBf is still attached…
edit: oh, I just looked at your photo closer. That Dish 500 takes two LNBf while the one I have is designed for the Twin LNBf for 110°W and 119°W.
Wow! That's cool!! Also that 300 almost looks like a ritz cracker a little bit lolI also have a Dish 300 that I had pointed to 61.5°W. The Dish branding has faded after all these years. The LNBf are Dish Pro units that I installed in 2005 when I expanded to the 622 HD DVR in the family room. I replaced my old LNBf heads with the Dish Pro heads one sunny day. Speaking of old GUIs, you can see some of the pictures show the 811 HD Receiver in action.
Also is the 811 newer than the 510?I also have a Dish 300 that I had pointed to 61.5°W. The Dish branding has faded after all these years. I'm not sure, but I believe so. The 510 was the Standard Definition DVR, and I think MPEG-2. The 811 came after the 6000 (imagine the 811 in the photos but black where the 811 is silver) and it had a built-in ATSC v1 OTA tuner. It was also MPEG-2. The ViP receiver family introduced the MPEG-4 support, allowing Dish to reduce the bandwidth for HD signals. Also is the 811 newer than the 510?
Since my 625 can pick up all satellites do you think an 811 would get all satellites like my 625 would?I'm not sure, but I believe so. The 510 was the Standard Definition DVR, and I think MPEG-2. That was the Dish that came with my original Dish 2000 receiver in 1996. The Dish 500 came with my JVC HM-DSR100U in 1998.Also that 300 almost looks like a ritz cracker a little bit lol
Dish dropped the 811 pretty quick after the ViP 411 and 211 were released. I know they could get 61.5°W and the Western Arc 110°W/119°W/129°W satellites, but whether one could pick up the additional 72°W/77°W of the Eastern Arc is questionable.Since my 625 can pick up all satellites do you think an 811 would get all satellites like my 625 would?
