DirecTV dropping "Advanced Receiver Fee" for new accounts, devices now $10/month

DIRECTV's standalone HBO pricing is $16.99, which is the same price that up until today HBO Max was charging for their standard ad-free tier.

If you have Premiere it's included as part of your base package, along with Cinemax, Starz and Showtime, which also includes access to Paramount+ Premium.

HBO Max's $10.99 basic ad-supported tier and the $12.99 Disney+Hulu with ads bundle are included in the $34.99 MyEntertainment genre pack. Next year it will also include AMC+'s $6.99 ad-supported tier.

Not to defend them, but they do have to recoup the cost of designing, producing, shipping, and maintaining the physical equipment. If you want to use equipment, you really should have to either buy the box or pay to rent the box. Before you argue that they should just give boxes out, I trust that cost will just end up passed along into higher package fees in perpetuity.

Back in the day they used to charge TV Access fees per room that had a cable line in no matter if you had equipment or not - now THAT was some BS.
Why not just let people buy the boxes and charge a lower mirror fee like dish does!!! instead of adding all of these crazy fee's. at this point it's not worth it unless there going to launch another sat wich is not happening
