I know that it wouldn’t be Dish authorized but, would it be possible to install a dish at my grandparents next door and have a Wally that’s activated on my account installed on that dish? I thought I heard of someone doing this already. I’m exploring all options for the when there DireTV contract expires. They usually switch back and forth every 2 years but the one is thinking about going back to OTA but the other want to keep his westerns. So I was thinking about at that point getting them a Wally and have it connected with my account so they can get free/half price service which would make the one who wants to go OTA again be ok with satellite. There only issue is the price.

That is called account stacking, is theft of service and is strictly prohibited in your contract.

DISH allows people with a vacation home to be on the same account with the provision only one house is used at a time and technically at least in the past you were supposed to have all receivers in the same location.

Ok. Thanks for letting me know.

Welcome Pack + Starz Encore
$19.99 + $6.00 = $25.99 per month (soon to be $28.99 per month after Welcome Pack increases to $22.99 per month in January)
Would that work? If that is still too expensive, half-price or even free deals may be available for Starz Encore to lower the price even more. If they sign up now, they could also complain about the Welcome Pack price increase when it happens, to maybe get some temporary loyalty credits on the bill to offset the increase.

From a technical standpoint, yes, it will work

Yep. I know people who have done it. I suggest NOT connecting the receiver at location 2 to the internet. That could send up a red flag since the ISP's would be different at both locations.

In my case I’m using their internet with an outdoor long range WiFi antenna with their permission. So we are actually using the same public ip address. The only reason I don’t have my own DSL is because we don’t have a phone line and never have. It would cost too much to have one put in.

hmm they have offers where you can get the cinemax hbo deal combined for 10 dollars a month for 6 months, or you can get hbo by itself for 10 dollars a month.

i have the showtime for 5 dollars 6 month
dish movie pack 5 dollars for 6 months
the encore pack 3 dollars for 6 months
and then the other heartland pack 3 dollars for 6 months.
.................
welcome price going up by 3 dollars is reasonable.
they have other good deals.
................
i like some channels in these packs. and i have been watching some basic local channels. i catch like a movie every now and again. but for a deal like this watching and switching between some of these channels are good.
i looked at service electric cable vision and there 19.99 package is just locals. so dish welcome pack is way better.

i pay for fast internet 74.95 though, so i can stream really quick.
..................
cant lose with dish at all.
........................................
would never of found about these half off deals if i didnt come to this forum.
and dish is offering some good deals via dish site via offers.
;0)

If the wifi has good throughput a network connected Joey would work.
Good point.
littlecloud319, are you already using their wifi to connect your Hopper to the internet?

Pass some of those savings here. Become a pub member. If I wasn’t paying for a wedding, I would have renewed already.
