KEY: * - merged/adjusted | ^ - Clear Channel Music Channels, w/ commercials
~ - moved channel | + - NEW channel

It seems that they kept the best of Sirus and Xm like the decade channels--I loved the decades programs and some of the best Sirus programs will be on XM

It seems this merger makes sense.

Is Maxim going away, or just staying on Sirius?

What channels will be exclusive to one or the the other service... I thought that the condition of the merger was that they had to maintain both services for at least three years at the current rate.... Maintaining both services by keeps a distinct XM presence and a distinct Sirius prescence... You could share a boatload of channels, but you couldn't just wave a wand and merge every channel.....

My wife will be psyched to hear Radio Margaritaville o her SM radio though... She listens to that on the E* feed in the house all the time....

Name Changed

44 Fred - renamed 1st Wave
54 Lucy - renamed Lithium

These are NOT name changes, particularly for Fred. These are totally different formats. 1st Wave is to Top Tracks as Fred is to Deep Tracks.

Lucy and Lithium are a little closer together, but since Lithium advertises itself as a 90s channel, and Lucy was at least 50% 80s music...that's still a major format change.

I'm sure there are others, these are just the ones I'm most familiar with.

Anyway, I thought this thread was going to be about the program director for Lucy who signed off pretty hilariously...

That was great! Thanks for posting it.

Any idea where he went/what he's doing now?

I don't blame the girl for the dishearted feelings of losing her job. With her experience she should easily find another radio station to work. Probably not Howard's fault. His shows are certainly adult oriented and some people like that kind of stuff. Some of it can be amusing, but Howard gets old quick.

Everyone will eventually get used to the new programming.......Most people don't like change.

...With her experience she should easily find another radio station to work....

I am under the impression that jobs are tight in this field, and were even before the recession. Lot's of stations being consolidated, with one DJ running a program that may be heard in many cities. Hence, fewer on-air talents needed. And radio is not exactly booming. I wouldn't be surprised to hear they were declining in numbers and revenue.
