Does anyone know if I used an STB like a Samsung T-165 or similar tuner could I plug it into the 6412 if it has two inputs or via an A/B switch or some other method and record OTA HD locals?

Here what I got so far for you
Nope, the only way to record with the Samy-165 in HD is with a JVC D-Theater D-VHS machine and with the firewire hooked up between the two machines.

Outside of buying a LG unit can you think of anyway to record OTA locals with the 6412 or should I just bite the bullet and get a LG unit?
