Hello,

I'm giving HDTV a shot to see what it is all about and have a few questions. I am a Dish Network subscriber and would ultimately like to get the Dish 811 Receiver and receive both the Dish HD pack as well as the OTA HD local channels. Before I order the 811, I purchased the US Digital OTA HDTV Receiver and started easy with a Radio Shack indoor amplified VHF/UHF antenna. Obviously that didn't work very well or I wouldn't be posting here. I got the local Fox channel and the local NBC channel. Neither were very reliable. I'm pretty sure I need an outdoor roof-top antenna. Here are the statistics for my area from http://www.antennaweb.org:

Antenna_Type - Network - Compass - Miles - Frequency

yellow-vhf ---- CBS ---- 177 ---- 16.2 ---- 13
yellow-vhf ---- NBC ---- 177 ---- 16.2 ---- 7
yellow-uhf ---- FOX ---- 283 ---- 6.5 ---- 44
yellow-uhf ---- PBS ----- 8 ----- 2.9 ---- 15
yellow-uhf ---- UPN ----- 8 ----- 3.0 ---- 20
lt-green-uhf --- ABC ---- 176 --- 16.3 ---- 23
blue-uhf ------- WB ---- 176 --- 16.4 ---- 26

With source towers in three different directions, is it possible to pick all these up with one stationary antenna mounted on the roof? Anybody have a recommendation for a particular antenna?

Thanks for the help.
