My OTA is not working anymore. This started after the latest update. I have the OTA dongle with a OTA antenna that I've been using for years. My hopper does not recognize the dongle anymore and when I go to the OTA setting, it has a screen that says to plug a dongle into the USB. I tried unplugging and plugging back, in the same usb port and other ports. The Hopper does not recognize it. Anyone have same issue?

Unplug your OTA module and then unplug your Hopper from its power source for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes plug the Hopper back in and let it fully boot up until you have satellite channels working. Plug the OTA module back in and see if you have the OTA channels. If not go to Diagnostics and then to OTA channels and rescan.

I'm having the same issue. It all started with the latest update. Mine would randomly reboot, picture would jump in and out and it totally crashed my OTA channels. I called dish tech and after an hour on the phone they shipped me a replacement hopper 3. Hopefully it works..

That's not true. And "virtually"?? Sure you know what that means?
Ummm, YES, it IS. It is a major problem right now. Now you CAN download off EA if you do multiple forced downloads...that is where you press the up button on the H3 while it is booting up. Technically it is called a boot strap recovery. This kills a LOT of time and it is something a customer would really have a hard time navigating through.
But THAT is the reason I used the term virtually, because for most people it is a non-starter.
Actually had a Dish customer reach out to me last week. Dish had sent them a replacement H3. After over an hour the Dish online tech gave up and set them up for a svc call about 10 days out. They are on EA. I told them if they wanted they could run the rec up to my store and I'd hook it up to a WA dish and it would download properly....they did and it did.

new to you!!! i bet it's been sitting on a shelf somewhere for a year or more ;), the hopper 3 is like 10 years old :biggrin
That's part of the problem we are seeing now as retailers/installers. It is always the roll of the dice as to whether or not a replacement H3 is going to work right out of the box. Had one about a year ago that had no HDMI output.
