I've had the same problem everyone has when watching OTA channels for
a period of time 20 min's and up, if you hit the guide button without going
to a non OTA channel you get the, satellite acquiring, followed by the guide update, and even a sometimes lock up. I read somewhere on a recent post
( can't fine that post) anyway some said to switch your guide display from
"partial guide with video", to "full guide display". So I did that this weekend and have been observing the results. Well I haven't got the acquiring satellite
display except when I left the 811 on all night on a OTA channel. I've let the 811 stay on one channel for an hour or more, and have been pretty heavy on hitting the guide button. Much more stable than with the partial video. It seems to take a little longer for the 811 to switch to full guide when you hit
the guide button, maybe that keeps the electronics more stable. The only
draw back seems to be that the channel information for each show only keeps
a couple of hours of memory for the titles of each show, and at sometime you will get a guide download. Maybe for those who have a continual problem
with this may try switching the guide display to full guide. It seems each
811 has a mind of it's own, (811 would be a female if it was a person), but
I have two 811's and get better results with this setting. It would be interesting to see if others get positive results too!
