GEOSATpro Out of the box MicroHd?

Ok i just took a brand new MicroHd out of the box and it says the firmware is 2012-8-30 and i noticed that the latest one from SatAv is the 2013-2-18,so i'am thinking before any scans or hookup to a satellite just do an upgrade via the usb,factory reset and power off like the instructions says,would this be a good ideal or not?

I'm surprized the update wasn't done before it was sold..I would install the new firmware version before scanning...
