Pace TDC577X with DRV Expander

Greetings,

Any Comcast customers using the Pace TDC577X DVR with an external hard drive? Page 19 of the manual describes how to connect, but I didn't know if anyone has successfully done this? I have a 1TB hard drive in a docking station with eSATA connection to try?
