PBS to Air Muslim-American Comics Film : STAGE TIME: Stand-Up Comedy Magazine
Summary: on May 11th, PBS is airing a special that follows five Muslim-American comedians who come together for the Arab American Comedy Festival in NYC, and their comedy pokes fun at themselves and at misconceptions and prejudice regarding Islam.
Personally I find this really interesting because there are certainly issues regarding prejudice in this country towards Muslims, particularly post 9/11, and it's inspiring that these comedians deal with the issue in good humor. I figure this is a great way to hear their perspective and get some laughs, too.
Note to self: the article states that May 11th is also Mothers Day. Prepare accordingly...
