Performance horrible this morning to this site and DBSTalk. The route I'm on uses a UUnet connection to your ISP and seeing high latency when it hits that hop, coming via another provider (Savvis) I don't see the issue. You might want to check with them:

I am sure it will get worse and better again over the next 48 hours because of the Hurricane.

Please see my thread titled SERVER WARNING for more details.

Everything is fine from Atlanta so far...

Like Scott says there will be dropouts due to electrical issues.

Yes, I read the post about the servers but Rita isn't near Dallas yet. It wasn't a server problem since a route via another ISP was OK and the route from Chicago to Dallas on UUNet wasn't the problem it was the link between UUNet and THEPLANET that had congestion. This was an issue solely within the hosting site and their ISP.

I'm willing to bet it was VOIP that was hosing up everything. That is usually what causes us problems when there are no "eviromental" issues. :)

No VoIP involved on this end, this was via two different DS-3 (45Mbps) direct connections to the two ISP's (corporate network) and taken outside the firewall.

That would definitely be a problem! :no
