I have a pioneer dv 250 dvd player from 2002 thats been good so far until couple days ago. I turn on my dvd player it comes up and says welcome pioneer on its screen but does not go any further. The tv doesn't show pioneer on its screen any ideas? I don't have a job at the moment to get a bluray player.

Likely its dead. Generally not worth fixing since BluRays can be had for as low as $50.

Where do you live? Many of us have spares lying around.

Panasonic and Sony are very reasonable with different models to fill everyone's needs. Oppo not so much ($499-1099). If streaming or DLNA is a priority, Sony is the way to go.

Not into streaming video don't have Internet access at the apartment. I believe in electronic devices should be separate so if one thing fails it doesn't take out everything. But I will look into Panasonic
