You sure that D* is secure?
NO...That's just what I've heard.
Do you know more HDTVFanAtic? Not that I'm asking for hacking info...some people here like to scream "hack talk" when it's not...I have never heard of DTV having another problem.
Hell, look at the other threads.....I'm the last person to know about hacks.
There are plenty of people that say D* is hacked (see above for one) but it is very quiet.
Voom had the Motorola system (SC also uses it) and it is secure from what everyone says.
That leaves D*.
Look at the wording as well. If It were BEV or SC they were talking about, it would have said either Canadian or Foreign - not National.

The second charge, theft of trade secrets, a violation of Title 18, Section 1832 (a)(2), is the result of infractions against another national satellite provider discovered during the investigation. Gluzman has admitted to obtaining and unlawfully distributing trade secrets and proprietary information from that provider.
And quiet simply, the I do not believe that the US Justice Department can prosecute theft of a Canadian Satellite Service. I suspect he would have to go through extradition to Canada to be tried - as he broke Canadian law - not US Law -though I will say I am not a lawyer either.
Finally, the news story was released by Echostar. You notice the Dish and Directv don't throw mud at each other and virtually never mention the other by name - no matter what.
I have been a skeptic when people say they have seen a hacked D* system.
It's like UFO and little green men - supposedly they were all over and its just no one had cameras when they showed up for 50 years. Now everyone has a camcorder, a digital camera and a camera phone and you notice all the reports of UFOs have virtually disappeared - lol.
But as skeptical as I was about D* being hacked, those charges filed against him in the second count literally confirm its true to me - because there is no way to charge and convict him on the second charge if the hack didn't exist.
