Fresno, ca.
I have a dvr625 and a Dish1000 and I am trying to get them to play together so I can take them with me on my camping trip in the RV. I have another Dish 100 on the roof of the house and this is a spare one that I bought.

I have them connected like this. From the Sat lnb's there are two outputs. I took one of those and connected an RG-6, ran that inside to the reciever and used a splitter that is always on the receiver (in the house) and connected sat1 to sat1 and sat 2 to sat 2.

I then go to menu, 6,1,1 and choose check switch. I run three tests and I get a message530 that one of the sats or switches is not connected properly. I have tried 3 different cables between the sat and the splitter that I know are good and work fine in other places. Run is about 20ft.

Any ideas??

Do you know what LNB it has (I'm assuming DPP since the 1000.X's are DPP equipment)? On the install summary it will tell you under the "Switch" row. It sounds like you're using a separator (separator and splitter are two different things), just want to make sure you have a DPP LNB, since DPP separators only work with other DPP equipment (will not work with DP LNB).

If you're using a splitter, not separator, that may be the problem.

Yes, my Comcast FTp was/is having issues so the pictures were late. Hopefully they answer your questions?? If not let me know, and I can grab numbers or take more pics.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You should a coax running from the single LNB to the other LNB.. It will go to the input side of that LNB.. Is that coax there???

I do have that.

Some progress. I don't know what happened but all of a sudden i have signal. Went back to point dish and 110 and have a signal of 68. That's about the max I can get. When I switch to 119 itsays wrong sat.

I downloaded the guide and such and I see everything but some of my normal channels are missing and whatever I try to watch is just a black screen.

It's aimed wrong I guess.??

thanks again for your help. I am really frustrated!!!!

I reran the check switch and it downloaded theguide again. Now I have the missing channels but everything I change to is just a black screen with no audio. Like the TV is off.

I aimed the dish with the menu set to 119 and got a lock on 110 as well. It seems that I have not gotten 129 but my receiver is only SD so not sure if that matter.

I ran the check switch again and got this:

Then click on details and got this:

Here are my sat settings:

what is the software version? menu 6 1 3

By looking at the pictures it appears that everything is correct. Silly question but is this your normal receiver or another you had around? May need a hit sent. Is this receiver activated?

That's what I'm leaning towards as well.

To Dntsdad: Send me your phone number or account number in a PM, and I'll make sure it's activated (include the receiver and smartcard number if possible R00/S19)

I agree. If the software is outdated (or it hasn't been used in awhile), you can get the "black screen with banner" issue. If you reset the receiver, you may get the appropriate error message to pop up
My no fail every time I need to update a dual tuner is to shut off #2 side and at tv1 go to channel 101 reach up and shut the receiver off on the receiver, you should see the vital info blah blah within 20 seconds. ;) has worked for me many times.

The s/w is good. What happens when you reset the receiver (unplug it for 15 seconds).

Check switch, then turn off both TV1 and TV2 will force the update as well (provided there's one available).

Ok guys. Everything seems to be working. Thanks Sooooooooo much!!!

I just hope the heck I get I working again in the mountains without Internet access!!

I went menu 6,1,3 again and software is still L547. That's good to go?
