I'm sorry if this has been addressed all ready.
I'm checking my signal using point dish and I'm using the following transponders and Sat's.
119 / 12 =111
119 / 11 =105

110 / 11 =50
110 / 12 =113
110 / 20 =107

Am I still using the correct transponders? 110 / 11 =50 seems very low but 12 and 20 = 113 and 107 seems fine. I'm confused:confused:
Thanks
Lenny

Your signals for various transponders would depend on your location (zip code).

Just real quick, I'm using a SuperDish 121 in Denver. I also have my dish set back inside of a balcony, and the receiver is a 622, rain has just slacked off.

119/12 Transponder 77
119/11 Transponder 76

110/11 Transponder 80
110/12 Spotbeam 123
110/20 No signal. Maybe spotbeam outside of Denver.

When you peak, you shouldn't use 110/12 or any other spotbeam (110/20 ?). Some receivers will tell you if its a spotbeam or not. You may want to check the other transponders.

Peaking on 110/11 should be okay, but I think you may be a little off.

So if im going to tweek the ajustment of my dish what Sat's and transponders should I use?

I checked 110 / 14 =97
119 / 12 =111
119 / 11 =105

110 / 11 =50
110 / 12 =113
110 / 20 =107

Thanks again!

Spotbeams have a directed signal and are stronger than a signal broadcasted to the whole country, so you should not use any spotbeams for peaking. Of course, after you peak, you would want to make sure you have a signal from the spotbeams.

Your locals are on Sat 110, TP 20 which is spotbeam 4, so you should always end up with a strong signal here, and it would not be good to peak on.

As Iceberg says, TP 14 on 110 should be good. Then check TP 11, which will probably have about the same signal strength as TP 14.

On Sat 119, I think I would use TP 11, TP 12, and/or TP 13 which all appears to be CONUS transponders (non-spotbeam).

Thanks Iceberg, I kind of remembered there were some spots on 119, but couldn't remember which ones. I pick up TP 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10, but do not have a signal on 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9 so it did not tell me if it was spot or not.

This is what I ended up with, I decided to leave it alone, I probably would make it worst.
Do they look OK?
Thanks again!
Lenny

Sat 110 TP 11 signal 94
Sat 110 TP 14 signal 103

Sat 119 TP 11 signal 110
Sat 119 TP 12 signal 114
Sat 119 TP 13 signal 108

I think it looks very good. Your spotbeam 110/20 is probably 123 - 125, assuming the meter shows 125 for max.

And of course, its not likely the meter will show the max for regular transponders, if it did, you would not know when you peaked.
