Canadian here, so little to no knowledge of the DIRECTV technology platform...

Is it possible to run two DECA modems point to point over a dedicated coax run? It isn't clear to me based upon my searches, as the vast majority of the documentation is meant for adapter-to-receiver installations. These are for sale at a reasonable price a short distance away.

Any insights would be appreciated. Thank you!

You can, but keep in mind the older models are limited to 100 Mbps. If you need gigabit speeds over coax there's a newer GigE model available.

100 Mbps is much better than 0 Mbps in this particular situation! :D The coax is direct-buried and in place. If there was a conduit, I would have pulled twisted pair. The DECA will be better than nothing.

Thanks for the response!

All the DECA does is convert an Ethernet signal to coax, you can use another DECA to convert the coax back to Ethernet.

It works if you want to extend an internet connection over coax cable.

You can also use (2) DECAs to run a client box over Ethernet wiring, since clients basically run off an IP signal
