Poor Picture Quality/Conversation with CSR

So my first 622 had to be sent back due to hard drive and overheating issues. Since receiving my replacement 622 it seems the picture quality is not as good as the first one. Channels look grainy, even local OTA HD broadcasts look poor. So I decided I'd humor myself and call dish tech support to see what they would say. Same stuff...check signal strength, reset receiver...nothing helped. Funny part was when I told the CSR that even my OTA HD picture quality looked bad, she told me that OTA will always look bad compared to dish HD/SD picture....I about fell on the floor laughing.

Check to see if your HD setting on the HD menu is not set to 480I. This is the default. If not, try another setting and see if it helps.

i have it set at 1080i but have gone back and forth with it and 720p and don't see a huge difference. my monitor is 1080p.
