Possible to get BBC on FTA?

You should first have one of your friends in the UK get you a Slingbox and set it up on their TV and internet connection for you can see if it is what you expected. Then once you see what it is like, then make a final decision on the PVR and internet. This way if it is not up to your expectations, then you will only be out the Slingbox and a favour to one of your friends. However, once they set it up and see it working, they may want the same from you to get American TV there. Be sure to check the internet pricing, upload/download speeds and byte caps for you do not end up with a surprise. I think my 600k stream from my Slingbox gives a good picture, but I am watching it on a notebook screen and not on a TV. The larger the display, the more the flaws in the picture are going to showup.

Not sure on the legality of this... but a quick google found this:
I want to watch BBC Iplayer in america, how do I obtain a UK IP address and how does it work? - Yahoo! Answers

also... look for it legally in less than a year

If this post is too close to being "hack talk" please delete it. I've seen p2p tv posts elsewhere in these forums so figure this isn't really all that different than that...

On that note... p2p tv is basically a slingbox, er well, sort of... and it's free.... legal, uh, well, that's questionable... but download of p2p software is free.... and I think it's legal to use as long as you are broadcasting your own stuff that you own copyrights to, which some people do... sort of like your own internet tv station without the limitations that youtube gives you.
