PPV Question

I have a VIP211K with an external hard disk. Is it possible to record a PPV movie and start watching it when I want to rather than on Dish' fixed schedule?

I think a better question that would be asked is would the EHD be affected by the same DRM restrictions that normal DVrs are affected by?
