DENON INTRODUCES HOME-THEATER-IN-A-BOX AND PERSONAL AUDIO SYSTEMS

-- Advanced Features and Performance at Affordable Prices ---

Mahwah, NJ – September 14, 2006 — Denon Electronics, one of the world’s premier manufacturers of high-quality home entertainment components, recently introduced the DHT-487DV Home-Theater-In-A-Box (HTIB) and the S-81, 2-channel personal audio systems. Both innovative new compact systems are designed to enhance consumers’ lifestyles by making it easy and affordable to enjoy the benefits of powerful room-filling audio and more. For added flexibility and connectivity, both new products feature a special dedicated port for connecting Denon’s new Apple® iPod® docking station (Model ASD-1R) and XM Satellite Radio’s “Connect-and-Play” antenna or the XM Mini-Tuner with XM Mini-Tuner Home Dock from XM Satellite Radio (optional).

DHT-487: All-in-One Affordable Home Theater
Denon’s DHT-487DV HTIB (SRP: $699) features a high-performance 5.1 receiver with Dolby Digital and DTS decoding and a DVD player featuring video upconversion with scaling (up to1080i) via HDMI digital video output. The system comes with five acoustically matched loudspeakers including a 100-Watt powered subwoofer. The compact, elegantly styled DHT-487DV is an affordable, all-in-one solution that lets consumers add the impact and power of home theater to virtually any room in the house.

For maximum sound quality, the DHT-487DV’s speakers are precision matched for optimum acoustics, and European-tuned in order to provide great performance when listening to either movie soundtracks or music. The center channel 'dialog' speaker features a 2-way design, with dual midrange drivers and an efficient tweeter.

S-81 Personal Audio System: Great Sound with Little Effort
Drawing inspiration from the acclaimed design concept of Denon’s S-Series (S-301, S-101), the company has once again brought elegance, simplicity and a seamless blend of form and function together in its new S-81 personal audio system (SRP: $599), offering users high-performance audio in an easy-to-use compact package.

The S-81 fills the gap for music lovers who are not looking for DVD-playback capability, but simply want great sound from either CD, MP3, WMA or radio sources. The S-81’s CD/ Receiver features a 50-watt x 2 amplifier for the included speakers, ensuring the power necessary for pure and realistic music reproduction. Denon engineers once again turned to European speaker designers to aid in the development and tuning of the two included speakers, which are crafted with the latest technologies and materials in order to achieve accurate sound reproduction.

Keeping simplicity in mind, Denon has once again added red and white color-coded speaker cables on both the speaker and amplifier. For individuals who would like to add longer cables to their music system, these one-touch jacks can be removed and re-attached to the users own speaker cable.

Denon iPod Docking Station: Clean and Simple Connectivity with all iPods
The new DHT-487 and S-81 feature the added benefit of easy connectivity with Denon’s optional Apple® iPod® docking station (Model ASD-1R, SRP: $129), which gives users complete command and control of their iPods via their remote control, allowing them to stream music, photos and video from their iPods through their home entertainment system. The DHT-487 also adds a main on-screen display for ease of use.

Extra Terrestrial Radio: XM Satellite Radio’s “Connect-and-Play”
Both new products also feature XM Satellite Radio’s “Connect-and-Play” technology, which lets users add XM Satellite Radio functionality with the addition of an optional “Connect-and-Play” XM Satellite Radio antenna or the XM Mini-Tuner with XM Mini-Tuner Home Dock. As a full 5.1 ready receiver, the DHT-487 also decodes the recently introduced XM-HD 5.1 content via Neural Surround decoding for multi-channel enjoyment of XM Radio stations.

Both products are currently shipping.
