preorder 922

If you want to buy it outright then talk to Claude at DishStore. I'm sure he can put you on a list and sell you one when it is released. If you are talking about leasing/upgrading I think you have to wait until it is released so that the CSRs have it in their system.

Judging by experience, don't count on those CSRs having it in their system, or knowing what to do about it, right off the bat at release. Sad but true.

are you aware of the high fees associated with this receiver? both a bigger DVR fee and a gigantic monthly receiver fee?

worse if its like near every other new box release it will be bug ridden

The receiver fee is the same as any Dual Tuner DVR is.

The 922 is kind of nice now that it can output full HD to TV2 with a Sling adapter. ;)

Scott theres talk of a extra 10 buck fee on the 922

That I don't know its not listed on the documentation I have seen. I guess we find out on February 1st when the 922 is released.

The DVR fee if you have a 922 will be $10 (instead of $7) but that fee covers all DVR's on your account. However the 922 itself will have the standard hardware fee of $17.

But if it is the #1 receiver on your account, aren't most of those fees included in the programming cost?

My 722k has no hardware fee, only the DVR fee of $5.99, so a 922 as primary would only cost $10 for the DVR fee (after the $200 down on the lease) , or am I wrong?

But only if the 922 is an additional receiver you pay $17.00 , not if it is the only or primary receiver on your account, RIGHT?

Dishstore is not going to do a pre-order on the 922 due to the fact that over 95% of the people who pre-ordered a 921, and 942 did not actually order when their place came up in line.

I had to turn away customers left and right when I finally got them in stock to be able to hold them for the pre-order people.

I was not fair to me because I placed a big un-necessary order for equipment, and it was not fair to the customers I had to turn away their business.

So it will be first come first serve when they are available.

Is the VIP 822 name being reserved for a 722 with a bigger hard drive?

I suspect so, just like the new 512, a 510 with a larger hard drive.

They historically do this as larger hard drives become cheaper and more available.

501, 508, 510 ADD FEE, and now 512?

Even the legacy dishplayers. 7100 bigger drive 7200

522 gt bigger drive and became 625.

Just charge a 400$ deposit. That usually weeds out the deadbeats ;).
