Just got this in my inbox. :)

PrimeTime AnytimeTM Functionality to Become Available in SD Local Network Markets – We have additional good news for Hopper customers who reside in one of certain 28 SD-only local markets.
o The PrimeTime Anytime feature is one of the reasons that Hopper customers enjoy their whole-home HD service from DISH. PrimeTime Anytime, when enabled, will automatically record "Big 4" local network programming! Unfortunately, because HD local network programming has been required in order for customers to take advantage of PrimeTime Anytime, several DMAs across the country have not been able to utilize this great feature – until now!

o Starting on Thursday, September 20th and rolling out through October 10th, Hopper customers located in 28 SD local network DMAs will be able to enjoy PrimeTime Anytime!

o Please note that customers must enable PrimeTime Anytime in order for the feature to begin recording.

Hey, I thought I posted this a couple weeks ago? It was on the retailer chat. I think I had it posted in one of the sticky threads.

If you did I must have missed it. But it just hit my inbox so thought I would share. :D

Prime Time Anytime makes watching TV better. :)

So many new shows this year that I would have never watched but now I am a fan because of PTAT. I am watching more network programming then ever before.

I'm just surprised I found out some info before you did. LOL I agree with the PTAT feature, I've watched a couple new shows strictly because they were automatically recorded for me. I watched Revolution because of it and I enjoyed it.

I didn't see the last chat as I was at the fair hopping around in a big Kangaroo Suit. :D

it kind of got lumped into one of the old sticky threads... someone mentioned around 9/22 that it started working that way

This should definitely make a few more people happy on the forum as there were at least a few posts early on with canceled installs when they realized PTAT wouldn't work.

Hi Scott

Sorry to boder again with the same critique. But I have to say it!!!! Dish does not respect PR/USVI costumers period. Why in the hell does Dish activate PTAT to every single market that only has SD networks and leaves Puerto Rico out again in the cold without another feature. This is just unjustifiable!!! Never in my dreams I have seen such a blunt disregard for paying costumers. The are selling and installing new hoppers in PR like they are going out of style and PR is one of those markets with the 4 Networks still in SD; Why not activate the feature for us also. And I just checked, even the 4 Networks are being transmitted through the same TP so there is no technical reason not to do so. This blunt disregard for, and let me stress, PAYING costumers is without reason. Would somebody at the Dirt team give a reasonable without beating around the bush explanation for this actions. Sorry but I am very mad for all of us here on the islands that are being left out as always. Just praying for D*** TV rumor to come true. To see if Dish starts refocusing their bbehavior down here. Simply abusive!!!!!

no they don't. I can give you one market that isnt and that is neighboring market by me (Mankato, MN)
They are SD only locals and no PTAT

How about us folks in RVs. Yea. I know, you can't have a Hopper in an RV.
Well I have two in my RV and they work as expected. Will be even better if I ever learn to aim my dish.
There is no reason now that DNS out NY in SD can not work.
Lets RV and PR team up and get PTAT.

Thanks Iceberg

But, and I ask, does that market have all their SD on one TP? I double check PR's 4 Mayor networks in SD and they come of only one TP. That being Sat 110 Spotbeam 48/49 TP 25. All local channels are being transmitted on that same TP. What reason does Dish would have not to activate the feature here and that market that you mentioned if they have all their SD channels through one same TP. I do not see any reasonable reason not to do so. They are installing Hoppers like I said like their going out of style here on the island.

See Iceberg, this proves my point. PR/USVI do have all the locals on the same TP. Now Dish can you seriously give an honest reason for not including us on this. We are still left out on a mayor number of HD channels which Dish may have a technical reason not to provide them, that being not enough space on the sats. But come on!!! What is the excuse now? We have the hopper, we pay our account (with missing HD channels), all the network channels come of the same TP so why not activate this with everybody else? Can the Dirt team see into this?

Given the way that Dish treats its customers in Puerto Rico and the USVI it won't take much of an offer from Direct to take my business assuming the rumor about Direct rolling out their North American package soon is true.

Maybe Dish's priority is to get things rolling on the mainland first. I'm not sure. I also don't know if every SD market had PTAT yet. They just started doing this so it may be in the works for you.

You are right about that, Scott... I have tested all kinds of new shows thanks to PTAT. The networks should be praising it, instead of fighting it.

I'm sure the networks don't have a problem with PTAT it is the commercial skipping that they object to. They get paid by how many people watch the commercials. They could care less if you watch the show.

Nope actually FOX and the others are suing DISH for creating an "illegal video on demand service."

If you use a DVR, you're most likely skipping commercials anyway, AutoHop or not...
