While watching TV the power briefly when out and immediately back on. Done everything to the box to reset and find satellites but nothing! There was no storms and no dish alignment problems, etc.
What is the most likely problem, i.e., the HD DirecTV box or LNBs?
Going to take the box in tomorrow.
By the way, had all equipment running though a good surge protector unit.

Thaks

I'm guessing you unplugged it and let it sit for awhile and tried it again ?

I've plugged the HD box and disconnected all inputs-- for several hours,
The unit powers up as normal but still searching for satellite without success.
All transponders on 101 are zeros.
As directed sometime ago by D* the "B band converter (BBC) module" is inserted at the back of the HD box.

What type voltage powers the LNBs from the HD box?

I am taking the box to a local D* sales office today for checkout.

13 and 18v from the recvr. unkless it's a SWM which is slightly different, but not a whole lot of voltage if that's what you wondering.

Most likely, a UPS would have prevented this. The DVR would never have lost power with such a short outage. Surge protectors don't protect against this type of outage.

My authorized dealer said the unit was defective. A call to D* and they agreed to send a replacement (free except for shipping) . I convinced they not to send out a service call. We'll see soon if I can get back up.
