Problems with Tp V -3920 on AMC -18 (105.0W) since installing new FW 0.9.5301

Not sure if this is just a coincidence, but since installing new FW 0.9.5301on my AZbox Premium Plus Receiver, I have noticed a lot on breakup on Tp V-3920 on AMC - 18 / 105.0W for the channels: Recipe TV, Cars TV, Pets TV, ES TV, etc. Other channels on 105.0W ie NBC, & Universal Sports seem to be fine. Some other Satellites I checked ie 99.0W are okay so far.

Has anyone else noticed this breaking up problem with those 5 channels on Tp 3920 on 105.0W?

Getting that TP fine with 7.5ft mesh dish & DMX242 lnbf, plus Telemundos, NBC muxes, etc.

The 3920V is tricky to fine tune the AZ & EL with 7.5 ft dish. This size might be the minimal size for usable signal.

Thanks for the replies guys. Problem is I had those 5 channels solid and clear on my 12 Ft Mesh Dish Before the latest Firmware Upgrade to 5301 on my AZbox Rx. As much as I hate to do this, and not knowing the consequences, looks like I may have to go back to the older Firmware to get those 5 Channels again on Tp 3920 since currently S =70 & Q = 90, and you can see at times the Signal Level cutting out at times when in Settings. This is very strange.

There is nothing wrong with your set up. It has been happing to me since last november. Signal go's up down like dish is out of alinment. I move dish with motor to side it comes back on for a short bit then go's out again. Or signal Q just cuts out maybe wait a short or long time then might come back on. This was happing on my 1.2m dish on Galaxy 17 had good signal like 45% then one day the signal went higher just before cutting out. So I put my linear lnb on and start hitting linear sats like galaxy 19 galaxy 3 amc 6
amc4 101 amc 15 amc9 well they are doning it Q signal just cuts out it is no good to watch TV. I been waiting a while for some one else to come out with this so now I know it is not my set up.

Those particular channels are a pain for me to get them to stay locked in on my 8 footer. On a decent day with the sun shining its not a problem. Let the clouds move in and poof they're gone. Seems that the dish has to be in the perfect sweet spot to keep them in though. You could always change your firmware back to what you had previously and see if that fixes the issue too. Blind

No this happens on my linear also with very high signal of 85% Q signal just cuts off then comes back on sometimes not. When I am on amc 1 it stays on better but at times cuts out also. I tried with viewsat ultra-omegasat-pansat-and megasat signal cuts out with all of them. I do not not understand why you say firmware, I am just getting fta I just use stb for fta with out loading any firmware. I never had any problem till this past fall.

I'd start checking all connections. Also, now is the time for "Sun Outages" to occur.

Occasionally, the factory will release updated firmware for their FTA receivers. Not hackware.

Ok I understand about sun outage, thanks)
Ok tonite no sun. I went to amc 4 101w tp 12060 had Q of 50-60% after a few minutes signal started going down to 30% and back up to 50% then after 7 minutes Q signal went to zero then after a minute or came back on then just kept going on and off. It was going on and off from 0 Q signal to 50-60 Q signal. I then went to Galaxy 3c TP 12050 or any TP and it did the same thing after about 7 minutes Q signal cut off and on over and over. This happens on every sat I hit I am using satracer hh motor. But like I said it started happing in the fall of 2010. I am in N.E.A

Bobbe - You have something going on there. Possibilities are (in the order that I would check)
Water infiltration into the coax. corroded connector(s), Check and repair/replace as necessary.
If there are any switches inline, bypass it/them
Failing Ku LNB, Swap out with a known good LNB.
Failing tuner in the receiver. Swap out with a known good Receiver.

Thanks for the advice. I been to messed up with pain to get out there. But jsattv started this thread and he said that signal cut happen with him also. I have a 36' dish set up out there also that I need to switch cable over to, to see if that set up is doing it also. But before this happen I was on c-band Galaxy 17 and amc 101 c-band geting like 35-40 % Q on Tp 6455 5030 on amc 4 101. And on Galaxy 17 I was hitting TP's 3920 26000 and 3800 30000 and 7080 30000 getting like 40% Q then signals went up for a short time like by 5-10% on both sats, then they started cutting out. So I put my aspen linear lnb on hitting from amc 6 to amc 15 good Q signal on all but signal cuts out. Then comes back on etc.... there is no wind out side when this happens. I checked pole with level still plum so thats it. I got to change over to my other set up and see if it happens there also, there has been to much snow to do it before cables were frozen in snow. I'll let yeah know thanks.

That Tp V-3920 on AMC-18 105.0W in HD (MPEG-4 DVB-S2) on C Band appears to have dissappeared. I tried to rescan it in on AZbox Receiver and it looks like it is not there anymore. Bobbe, the firmware was mentioned because lately there has been firmware upgrades to Update those of us who have AZbox Receivers for such things as YouTube, and a bunch of other items. Lately we have had Firmware Updates that are not as stable as previous Updates, which is why this issue of going back to a previous more stable FW version was mentioned.

Thanks for the info. I never update firmware on my boxes it did not think it made any difference with FTA. I got VSU-megasat comanche-pansat 2700A and omegasat DSB5700. Should I be updating any of them? you can watch you-tube on your AZ box? thanks

Yes Fat Air I think you are right. I put my stb on my other dish and no cutting out. I am conviced that it is my sodoun satracer HH motor that is giving me the problem. You know in the input for the LNB. I have had lot of problems before with it other types of problems. I will try putting cable from box at dish end to a splitter and one side go to motor input from stb and the other go to LNB. So motor will move but I'll be by passing the LNB part of the motor. I've done it before it worked. I'll try that. I've been wanting to get the HH motor with the metal gear in them cause a 1.2m dish is kinda big for a HH motor. Plus I also need to reiline set up. I got 1.2m dish on pole about 8ft high with motor. If motor gear wears down a bit it will give me some free play that is bad when you are trying to get c-band with a 1.2m dish. Thats why I should get the metal gear motor. ok.

Bobbe AZbox is a HD Sat Rx and also like a multimedia Box. If you need more info check out AZbox Forum on these pages.
