Program Remote to local off air channels

DirectTV receiver, remote. Samsung TV, had to replace remote and reprogram, can now use remote for off air channels, EXCEPT, have to use TV remote to access them, then can use DirectTV remote..what do I need to do to program remote so can get local channels?? Thanks for any help, DirectTV can't help me.

Sounds like you need to program your Directv remote to control your tv. Go to menu, set up, remote and follow those instructions. Hope that answers your question.
