I'm not complaining, but I've been wondering. I recently had my SHO-HBO-MAX free trial turned off and was surprised that I was still getting TMC-W and TMCX-W as well as Encore-W. When I checked the programming chart I noticed that these are, in fact, included with AT180 (which is what I have). Is there a reason why the West feeds are included, but you have to pay extra for the East feeds?

IIRC, the theory at the time was since TMC tends to show some skin (to put it nicely) at night, by offering West feeds, Dish made sure that anything adult would be late enough that kids on the West coast couldn't stumble across an East feed of something naughty.

Of course - what I have noticed since subbing to AT180 myself is that if kids woke up early, they still might stumble across such adult programming. Some of it is on until 5, 6 or 7 AM ET.

I guess this just goes to show the best thing for parents to do is either pick a "family" pack, learn how to use parental controls, or both.
