I'm going on if Dish still does it like they have in the past, no. When/if you need repair etc get it then there is (or at least has not been) any kind of waiting period. Keep it for the required amount of time then drop it again.

This is what we are thinking of doing is dropping it after the 6 months and if we need it then add it on

If i remember correctly if they reinstated the protection plan you were forced to keep it for 6 months i could be wrong!!! at that point you might as well just pay for a service call.. how often do you really need a service call unless one lives in tornado alley 🤔. owned receivers come with a 1 year warranty also..

You can cancel in front of the 180 days but it will have a cancellation fee of $30.

i want to avoid the 30.00 cancellation fee :biggrin. charlie has enough money :biggrin;)
The point is that it is a $95 repair fee without the plan. You get the plan at the same time you request a repair and that fee doesn't exist. Now you cancel that plan after the fix and it costs you $30. You saved $65!
