I was going through a previously saved satellite/channel list, getting it ready to download into my new SonicView SV1000 (a kickass box, btw), and was wondering which birds might be OK to delete. I hate clutter.

Obviously, I don't have channels saved on every satellite. But, I do wanna keep some of the empty ones, knowing that I will possibly pick up some cool feeds here and there. However, I wonder if some are just cluttering up the list, not worth keeping around.

So, is there anything worthwile on Ku on Amazonas or PAS9? I see a lot of Spanish and Portugese language stuff. What about Anik F1 and F2? And, is there any FTA on the Nimiqs? If there are no cool feeds or any English language programming available FTA, I'll just delete them from the list.

(Obviously, I'm not deleting any of the AMC's, Galaxies, or IA's.)

Uh, it's up to you, but if I were you I'd hold on to at least one tp on each satellite in your bin file... No nothing is on Amazonas at the moment, but there used to be, so it can send signals this way... Pas9 does have stuff on it, but not 24/7... or at least I don't think it's 24/7. Aniks are mainly news feeds, so they aren't 24/7 either. Nimiqs are useful to keep around too.

Some of the the Spanish language channels are worth keeping around for the English language movies they sometimes air (with Spanish subtitles).

Thanks. But, I don't have time to go searching through foreign-language channels hoping for an english language program. I've got enough english language programming from Comcast, Netflix, as well as FTA! :D

I put all the channels I like in a "favorite list", and leave everything else alone. Then when I am bored, I can surf all the foreign channels to see whats on. :)

All of the below relates to KU

Amazonas has nothing on it right now
PAS9 you need a Univeral LNB and the only thing that is there 24/7 is Fidel Vision (Cubavision)

AnikF1 has some feeds but they are 4:2:2
AnikF2 once in a blue moon has a few feeds (news feeds and sometimes a minor league hockey game)

Nimiq1 use to have radio stations on it but those are scrambled. Really not much on there FTA (few preview type channels) but out of the 5 you listed, this one I'd keep

Forgot to mention Nimiq2 really doesnt have anything on it either. I think there are a couple radio stations but I forget if they are scrambled or not

I did the same thing with the Coolsat. Went through and put in order the satellites I use. I got rid of all the C-Band ones and the ones that are East past Amazonas (there was stuff on it at the time)
