PS3 in-game comunication -- finally!

We have been waiting for this for some time now and it looks like this summer we will finally get XMB with the 2.4 firmaware update:

My only question now is what will 2.2 and 2.3 bring to the PS3? BD-Live maybe? DTSMaster-HD maybe? Home?

uhhhhhhh..... what is this XMB you speak of?

XMB is the bar on the PS3/PSP that you use to start games, change settings, etc.

This is the equivalent of being able to bring up the 360's blade at any time on the 360. With the PS3 you are only able to quit the game really from within one once it has started.

from what I am hearing it will be before 2.4, I will try and dig up the thread to back this up a little later!
