Does such a thing as a manual up/down pulse counter exist for those of us who want a standalone actuator position indicator ?

I thought about using a micro + LCD or even discrete counter chips + 7 segment LEDs to do it but I don't want to reinvent the wheel if it's already been done. Anyone ?

What are you willing to pay?
How do you move your dish now?

The Vbox II does more than you asked, but if you used it to move your dish, you'd have the position info on its display.
Even includes the remote control. ;)
Sadoun also sells a Gbox V3000 that's a bit better, but the choice is yours.

If something else drives your dish, then these units would still count the pulses, but wouldn't know which way you were moving.
So, they could not maintain a proper count.
