PVR 508, want to use universal remote...

I have a Dish PVR 508. The buttons on the remote keypad are coming off (not all, mainly the device buttons), and I would like to be able to replace it with a regular (non-Dish brand) universal remote. I purchased a One For All URC 4021 remote, but it doesn't seem to work with my receiver. I've tried all the different codes, and even did a code search, with no luck. The only thing I can think of that might be the problem, is the remote address. Our neighbors remote was controlling our receiver, so we changed the address for our system. Could that be keeping the OFA remote from recognizing our receiver? If so, do I just reset the address? And if I do that, how do I keep the neighbor's remote from controlling our system?

If none of that works, is there a remote out there, other than the one provided by Dish, that will control my 508 PVR? Or, does anyone know where I can buy a replacement keypad?

You are correct about the address. It needs to be set to 1 in order for it to work with a universal remote.
However, if the URC model is JP1 compatible, and there's a good chance it is, there are ways to change the address and other settings in the remote. You should check out http://www.hifi-remote.com/ofa/ to learn more about JP1.
