Buying bleeding-edge and/or name-brand

I do not buy bleeding-edge routers as the prices are insane for little benefit. The only thing you need to know is when I decided to expand my wireless reach I pulled 3 of the 4 routers out of a box in the shed and used them instead of buying "bleeding-edge" AP devices. The 4th router was my current router that was replaced by my internet supplier when I switched to fiber and they installed their own router in place of my 4th one which I then turned in an AP device for $0.00. No I'm not getting wifi 6 or wifi 7 wireless speeds but I don't need it as I previously explained to you.

(meanwhile, the Foxbat family does quite nicely with 50 Mbps down and 8 Mbps up since we don't live in a fiber neighborhood)

Unless you have a large family that all watches independently, or you are participating in WFH, I'm thinking more than 200Mbps down is probably overkill.

Well, Quantum Fiber, it was good getting to know you.

Moving to Lakeland, Florida, offer on a house was just accepted, girlfriend and I are moving in together there.

The good news, Frontier Fiber is available at the new house, amazing pricing, 5 down/up is only $90 a month.

Frontier was installed earlier today, came with 2 Eero units, amazing speed and distance, at the furthest part of the house, away from the extender, still receiving 2 down/up via wifi.
