I know this has been covered quite a bit but I'm hoping someone can clear up some confusion I have? I live in the Phillies home market and also obviously don't have Comcast Sportsnet. I was under the impression that I would never be able to get any Phillies games on EI due to those two facts, however the game on Saturday night with the Astro's was available for me to watch. My question is why was I able to see this game and was this a very rare instance? Thanks and I apologize for another thread on this subject.

I was under the assumption that all broadcasts concerning the local team would be blacked out unless it was the actual RSN. As example I am in Minnesota and was blacked out of all 3 Blue Jays broadcasts. The Twins broadcast I could see obviously. But maybe there is a new rule that if the RSN is not available (like 4SD and CSN PHilly) that you get the other teams broadcast

I would check tonight to verify.

Thanks for replying Iceberg. Unfortunately the Phils are playing the Mets so the game is on SNY which is one of my RSN's. I would get the game without the Extra Innings Package. I would likely pull the trigger and get the package if I knew I would be able to see the other teams feed but at this point I still don't know what the deal is?

I'm pretty sure you receiving the game in Philly was in error. D* does make mistakes on occasion and sometime to our benefit. I have had EI for 10 years now and I live in Massachusetts right in the middle of Red Sox nation. There have been some times, on a few rare occasions, when I have been able to view the YES feed of a New York-Boston game. I am almost always blacked out from YES during these games, but it has happened that I could view YES. Remember somehow D* has to keep track of all the ZIP codes out there and send the proper signal information to each receiver. It's amazing they don't have more problems than they do.
